Craig Freimond (South Africa) - Nominee for the 2018 Media Professional of the Year award
Craig Freimond completed his Drama degree at Wits University in 1988. Since then he has worked as a writer and director in theatre, television and film.
He is nominated for directing the feature film Beyond the River (see trailer above). Inspired by the true story of Siseko Ntondini and Piers Cruickshanks, who together won gold in the 2014 Dusi (canoe marathon). Beyond the River delivers a nail-biting adventure story about the triumph of the human spirit.
