- 2016: 3x Gold Medals Australian Surf Life Saving Championships
Hannah Minogue's paddling career has seen her win a swag full of medals across numerous disciplines but her recent victories at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships will ensure her name is etched into the history books as one of the best female ski paddlers ever.
Hannah is one of the gustiest paddlers in the world. Few people can match her ability to handle giant waves and even fewer can keep up with her in the smaller surf. She is most certainly one of the most versatile ski paddlers currently racing.
With over 7,000 competitors in attendance, the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships is undeniably the toughest lifesaving event in the world. Throughout the week of racing there was a range of conditions thrown at competitors, and Hannah’s strength and versatility ensured she was always at the pointy end of the field. With the conditions suiting her strengths perfectly on the final day of competition, Hannah took out 3 of the 3 ski paddling gold medals on offer; Female single ski, Female double ski and Female Taplin relay, a triple crown many ski paddlers dream of.
In recent years she has turned her focus to sprint kayaking where she is making big improvements. This year at the Australian Olympic team trials, after only a couple of years in a kayak, Hannah snared a 4th in the K1 200 and 6th in the K1 500m at trial 1, and 5th in the K1 200 and 7th in the K1 500 at trial 2. These results prove that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the years leading up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
In addition to ski paddling and kayaking, Hannah is also a former Nutrigrain Ironwoman (professional ironwoman series) and has won multiple international races on the ocean ski.
