Jakub Grigar is one of the most talented Junior slalom paddlers in the world. In 2015 he became a double World Champion, having also won the title in 2013.
Leading into the 2015 championships in Foz do Iguassu (Brazil) Jakub was ill, he was very nervous on the start line but despite this he was able to produce a great performance. Throughout his run he showed considerable stamina and skill in difficult conditions, powering through to the finish in a time of 88.04s, 2.19s ahead of second place getter Malo Quemeneur of France.
The 18 year old from Slovakia also raced at the Senior World Championships at Lee Valley in London where he was placed a credible 21st in his heat.
