Sue Natoli - Member of the World Paddle Awards Academy

For two decades, Sue Natoli has been actively involved in local, national and international Canoe Slalom events with her expertise being recognised worldwide. Since first becoming involved with the sport Sue has always been willing to share her time, skills and knowledge with her contribution having benefitted many generations of paddlers both in Australia and around the world.

Since entering the ICF Canoe Slalom Technical Committee in 2008, Sue’s involvement has been invaluable at major events including the Senior World Championships, Junior and U23 World Championships, ICF World Cups and the Olympic Games. During her time on this committee she has helped oversee and facilitate some major changes in the sport, including increased participation of women, increased participation of nations, increased professionalism of the conduct of international Canoe Slalom events and technical officials, and standardisation of the running of major international races.

In addition to being on the ICF Canoe Slalom Technical Committee, Sue has been a member of the Australian Canoeing Canoe Slalom Technical Committee since 2005, a Board member of the Oceania Canoe Association, a mentor to new Judges and Event Organisers in Australia, and a member of the team developing the ICF Slalom Rules

Sue strives for fair play and has demonstrated leadership and innovation in her role. As an exemplary volunteer, Sue was recently awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in recognition for her services to canoeing in the 2018 Australia Day Honours list.

With her national and international efforts highly regarded around the paddling world, Sue Natoli will be an invaluable member of the World Paddle Awards Academy.
