Anna Koziskova burst into the spotlight and stunned the crowd at the 2015 World Marathon Championships after she crossed the line in first place ahead of the seemingly undefeatable Renáta Csay of Hungary. At the 2014 championships Anna picked up a bronze medal in this event.

After a less than impressive start to the race Anna worked hard during the first few laps until she reached the leading group. During one of the final portages Anna took the lead, and with her brother's encouragement, after the last portage she pushed to the finish to win by a staggering 2 minutes.

Securing her maiden World Championship title was phenomenal and took Anna by surprise. However, her weekend was not yet over: the following day she replicated her result from the 2014 World Championships to win a silver medal in the K2 senior women's event with her partner Lenka Hrochova.

On top of her canoe marathon feats Anna also competes in sprint canoeing where she is a member of the Czech national team and races in various downriver marathon races including the Dusi Canoe Marathon and Hansa Fish River Canoe Marathon. At the 2015 sprint canoe world championships she placed 9th in the K1 5000 and picked up a 5th in the same event at the European championships.

The likeable athlete started paddling with her twin brother Jakub Adam in the fall of 1998. For two years she suffered from anorexia and after wanting to give up everything, it was canoeing that kept her afloat, providing her with the opportunity to live a happy and healthy life and compete as a top sports person.
