Team Mistral first came together in 1998 to compete at the European Rafting Championships in Prague. Since then they have dominated the international rafting scene with a total of 8 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze World Championships medals. This impressive medal tally makes Team Mistral the most successful single team in the history of the sport.
2014 was a stellar year for Team Mistral, seeing them win gold in the sprint and downriver events and bronze in the H2H at the World Championships in Brazil. On top of this they won Gold Overall at the European Championships for the fourth time since 2006.
The future of competitive rafting in Slovakia looks secure because these dedicated women are not only outstanding athletes; they are raising 12 children between them. Team Mistral share their time generously with the rafting community - they have coached and supported the Slovakian Men’s U23 team, helped organise the 2014 European Rafting Championships and are involved with the Slovakian Rafting Federation.
Team Mistral have been nominated for the Sports Team of the Year award for their spectacular results over the past 10 years and in 2014.
