Nouria 23, originally from La Plagne in The French Alpes, is both one of the best female competitive whitewater paddlers in the world as well as being a promising young paddler with international medal success in canoe slalom.
She defended her 2013 world title in such style at the 2014 Adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship in Ötztal, Austria – to do the double has never been done before at the Extreme Worlds.
In 2012 Nouria also won the Whitewater Grand Prix in women's extreme kayak in Chile – impressively she won 4 out of 5 stages, another record in itself.
Also representing France in K1W slalom, Nouria also became World Champion in K1W team with compatriots Carole Bouzidi and London 2012 Olympic Champion Emilie Fer.
Nouria trains in Pau, South-East France, at the Pau-Pyrenees Whitewater Stadium set up by 3-time Olympic gold medalist in C1 Tony Estanguet. She started paddling aged 9 years; she had her first lesson on holiday in Costa Rica from Joaquin 'Miti' Garcia Benavides who competed in K1 Slalom at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

- Aspiring journalist, Nouria has done an internship at Le Figaro newspaper's photography department in Paris and has contributed for Sportscene.
