Frenchman Boris Neveu from Lourdes is in the running for the 2014 WPA Sportsman Award because of his spectacular top-podium results in both men's K1 and K1 team at the 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Deep Creek, Maryland. The K1 podium was that much more special as it was a French clean sweep also from fellow countrymen Sebastian Combot and Mathieu Biazizzo.
Together with C2 Bozic and Taljat, Boris is the only 2014 World Champion who has also won an individual World Cup in the same year.
To compliment 2014, at other World Championships past Boris has won silver in K1 at La Seu d'Urgell in 2009 and 5 more medals in the men's team event: (gold: 2006; 2xsilver: 2010, 2011; and a bronze: 2013).
Boris has also seen European success being men's K1 team champion in 2012 at the Eiskanal in Augsburg. Furthermore he won both silver in K1 and bronze in K1 team at the 2009 Europeans in Nottingham, with another team bronze 2 years later in La Seu d'Urgell.
