There has been a staggering response on social media since the nominees were announced in the seven award categories in early December.

This month votes have been coming in thick and fast from the public on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus – worth 50% of the overall weighting. The other 50% comes from the Academy who vote over two rounds. The results from Round 1 are now in and Round 2, the Academy's final vote, has commenced this week.

There are some major players at this stage, but remember everything can change as we go into the final weeks of public voting which closes late January 2015.

We are delighted to give you an update on the public votes so far.

  • You have voted the most, out of the seven awards, for Sportswoman of the Year with 4,786  votes followed by 3,397  in the Junior category.
  • The overall leader according to the public vote, is Freya Hoffmeister.

Here are the leaders (public vote) in each award; they are by no means the finalists at this point and the ongoing Academy vote is not yet included in the below:

Please keep voting or if you are yet to do so, you have until the end of January 2015 and have a look at how our voting works.
