She also won the World Cup in Banja Luka in K1 Sprint. Her gold-standard performances in Baja Luka and Macedona capped off a dominant 2018 season for Barbora, who is no stranger to the podium, who also won the Sports Junior of the Year award at the 2017 World Paddle Awards after a series of outstanding performances in 2017. While there have been several Czech Republic nominees over the years, she was the first Czech finalist to win an award and would no doubt be thrilled to repeat the experience.

Barbora trains on a small Morava river in her hometown Litovel and also spends a lot of time on the road in order to be able to train on bigger rivers. Her father introduced her to kayaking when she was ten-years-old. Although she initially started off with Sprint, Dimovova quickly transitioned to Wildwater canoeing once she got a taste of the rapids and adrenaline.

Off the water, Barbora is passionate about beauty and is a make-up consultant for Mary Kay.
