Gerd Serrasolses, a 26-year old Spanish paddler from Catalunya has proven himself this year to be one of the most formidable racers on the extreme kayaking circuit, along with running the hardest white water on the planet with style.

His strength and immense level of fitness clearly sets him apart from other competitors in extreme racing. This can often be seen as a more technical type of event, yet it is the combination of this athleticism and smooth paddling technique that makes Gerd particularly dexterous on the racecourse!

2015 has been an exceptional year for Gerd, with him gaining wins at prestigious events including the Little White Salmon Race and the North Fork Championships both in the USA.

Most recently he claimed victory at the Adidas Extreme World Championships. In the three days of racing he dominated the field winning the qualifications and each final Heat. In the Super Final Gerd completed the fastest time by nearly a second, an incredible feat on a course of only 55 seconds in length against a field of the world's most renowned racers from all kayak disciplines.

In terms of whitewater paddling Gerd has completed many notable achievements including one of the first descents of Site Z on the Stikine, and more recently new feats in expedition kayaking in Russia as part of the Adidas Sickline team.

Gerd's personality helps set him apart as one of the most positive people in paddling; he loves every minute he spends on the water.
