2016 World Paddle Awards nominees announced
We are proud to reveal the nominees in all seven (+ four!) award categories for the 2016 World Paddle Awards (WPA).
The nominations are in, both the public and the WPA Academy members have put forward their requests for this year's potential winners.
Get dressed to the nines, put on your glad rags, time to look dapper – the World Paddle Awards ceremony for the 2016 season is just around the corner, set the date; 18 February 2017. Venue will be the Montebelo Aguieira Lake Resort & Spa (pictured above).
Thank you to all the people who submitted their nominations for athletes and those involved in paddlesports who deserve to win a Golden Paddle for their achievements this year.
By award, the complete list of 2016 nominees is:

* The sports(wo)man award categories above do not include slalom or sprint athletes as nominees. Instead, there are four extra award categories for the best (fe)male Olympic athletes [Rio 2016] who will be presented at the awards ceremony 18 February 2017.
